Dodge Challenger Safety Features and New Technology
It’s hailed as one of the great successes of U.S. auto manufacturing: An “American Icon,” as the company describes it. First introduced in 1969, the Dodge Challenger provides a perfect blend of strength, reliability, and style.
Even with its sporty nature and high-powered horsepower, the Challenger has been engineered with a comprehensive package of safety measures and the latest in entertainment and other technology for a smooth, reliable ride.
The sales team at Chris Nikel Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat (CJDRF) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has compiled this overview of the Challenger’s safety features and technology.
Safety Features in the Dodge Challenger

Safety comes first, even in flashy sports cars like the Dodge Challenger. Dodge engineers have built several advanced safety features into the vehicle to keep you and your family safe and sound on the road. Let’s highlight some that will give you the most peace of mind.
Blind-Spot Dangers
One of the hidden hazards of driving is people lingering in your car’s blind spot, just behind the right or left rear of your vehicle. It makes these hazards hard to see when changing lanes. Dodge Challenger counters these dangers with the Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path Detection. You’ll get a loud alert when another car slides into the blind spot, allowing you to confidently change lanes or reverse.
Let There Be Light
It’s always a particular challenge driving when the sun goes down. To drive safely, you need to be able to see objects around you. The Dodge Challenger offers help with available automatic high-beam headlamps. The system senses light from oncoming traffic and automatically switches between high and low beams to provide the right amount of light.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Cruise control helps take some of the stress out of driving. The Dodge Challenger comes with an advanced feature known as adaptive cruise control, which helps to reduce the chance of accidents. Adaptive cruise control automatically adjusts your car’s speed to keep you separated by a certain distance from other cars on the road.
Collision Warnings
The Dodge Challenger includes a series of strategically placed sensors around the vehicle that help keep you on the straight and narrow. The full-speed forward-collision system sounds the alarm when you move too close to other vehicles or hazards in any direction. The lane departure warning alerts you when you’re starting to veer out of your specific lane.
New Technologies in the 2023 Dodge Challenger
Today’s new vehicles are technological marvels, both inside and out. As a new sports car, the Dodge Challenger has plenty of unique technology-driven features to make ownership fun, safe, and exciting. Here are a few of the highlights of the most recent model year:
Uconnect 5 Infotainment System
Uconnect is an award-winning connected-vehicle solution that converges many of the entertainment and information technologies available in the Dodge Challenger into a single unified platform. Built into all CJDRF vehicles, Uconnect allows drivers to access stereo, navigation, media player, apps, and other connected technologies using a unified interface.
Uconnect 5 includes a touch screen measuring 8.4 inches diagonally with a traditional AM/FM radio and Sirius/XM radio connectivity. You can control the system through voice command, allowing you to keep your hands and focus on the road for hands-free calling or texting.
An auxiliary/USB connection for the phone or media player and a Bluetooth connection are built in. Your cellphone links to Uconnect through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Your backseat passengers will appreciate the system’s ability to sync content to rear-seat display screens to watch downloaded movies or television programs while you focus on the road.
For a subscription fee, the system provides a conduit for reaching Dodge Connect, a concierge service that offers theft and roadside assistance support. You can also use Uconnect to summon help.
Harman Kardon Sound System
Everyone will know when you’re nearby with your 2023 Dodge Challenge due to the vehicle’s built-in high-performance Harman Kardon sound system. If you’re a music fanatic, make sure to choose the 19-speaker Harman Kardan Premium Sound Group. It’ll blow the doors off with a 900-watt amplifier and two subwoofers.
Logic 7 surround sound will increase your listening pleasure while GreenEdge provides environmentally friendly output from the systems. Get ready for a truly immersive audio experience.
In-Vehicle 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot
One of the technological innovations in the 2023 Dodge Challenger involves always-on connectivity for you and your passengers. The Challenger comes with an in-vehicle 4G Wi-Fi hotspot to keep you connected to the Internet while you’re on the go. The system uses the vehicle antenna to allow you to connect up to 50 feet from the car.
Buyers can test the service with a three-month trial after purchase. Connectivity allows your passengers to stay entertained and productive and lets you get caught up on email when you pull over for a rest. The system allows you to pair up to 10 phones to the system, more than enough to accommodate everyone in your party.
Wireless Charging Pad
One technological challenge that unites us is finding a quick and easy way to charge your mobile phone. The Challenger simplifies this by incorporating a wireless charging pad into its design. You can put your phone onto this pad and charge your battery without having to connect it traditionally with a USB or other cord.

Dodge Durango Vs. Ford Explorer
The love affair with SUVs is as strong as ever. With so many entrants into the crossover category, it’s sometimes easy to overlook those built for more rugged use. Are you frequently in the mountains or heading out to go kayaking? Or are you a soccer family that needs room for teammates and gear?
One of the best-selling SUVs in the Dodge line is the Dodge Durango. You might be wondering how this beast of a vehicle compares to a top competitor, such as the Ford Explorer. Read this brief overview as the team at Chris Nikel Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram FIAT in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, compares the two vehicles.
Exterior Features

It’s the stripes that’ll get you first. The Dodge Durango lets you add a sleek and stylish look with Mopar stripes over its topcoat, stretching from bumper to bumper over the roof. You can also choose distinctive colors, such as Sterling Silver, Bright Blue, Gunmetal Low Gloss, and Flame Red.
For family adventures, the Dodge Durango lets you install an available roof rack, which will support 150 pounds, so you can easily haul your bicycles, tents, and other cargo to one of the great camping spots near Broken Arrow. The Durango also comes with a package of trailer technologies that’ll let you tow along the items you need on your journey.
The Ford Explorer is ready for offroad adventure, offering a twin-panel moon roof and features such as a rear liftgate, cargo basket, and rooftop cargo box. You’ll appreciate the front struts and rear shocks for uneven terrain and the 18-inch all-terrain tires. Explorer hybrid or limited hybrid models can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Performance and Powertrain
Dodge refers to the engines in the Durango trim as “the belly of the beast.” Depending on which trim is suitable for you and your family, you can choose from a 5.7-liter, a supercharged 6.2-liter, or a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine. A 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is also available.
The top-of-the-line supercharged engine delivers 710 horsepower, 645 lb-ft of torque, and a towing capacity of up to 8,700 pounds. At the lower end, the Pentastar V-6 drives 295 horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque and has towing capabilities of up to 6,200 pounds. So you can pull anything from a watercraft to a speedboat.
In general, the Durango won’t be a cost-saver at the pump. According to EPA estimates, it gets 19 mpg in city driving and 26 mpg on the highway, for a combined rating of 22 mpg.
The Ford Explorer, described by Car and Driver as a “perfectly adequate vehicle,” comes to the table with a 300-hp turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. You can also opt for a 400-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine. You may lean toward the hybrid version if you’re an ecologically sensitive buyer.
Given the different engine and powertrain configurations, the Explorer has a few different fuel-economy ratings. Its rear-drive hybrid provides up to 27 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on the highway, while the Platinum hybrid models register in the EPA estimates at 25 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
Interior Comfort and Features
Drivers are at the center of the interior design of the 2023 Dodge Durango. The car offers a driver-centric cockpit with all the technological features you need to focus on driving. The brand has also kept passengers in mind in its design, building enough flexibility to allow for up to 50 different seating configurations.
With three rows of seating, the Durango has room for up to seven. In the third row, you can put the seats down for extra cargo room, keep them both up in a 60/40 split, or have one up and one down based on the needs of your journey.
The entertainment/information center leverages the UConnect 5 system featuring a high-definition 10.1-inch diagonal touch screen. Connect your cell phone through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to access your most important apps for your journey.
In the Explorer, the standard display is an 8.0-inch touch screen. You can also link to your cellphone through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Explorer can also serve as a Wi-Fi hotspot. If you want to go bigger on the screen, consider the optional 10.1-inch vertically oriented screen. Each model offers voice-activated navigation and a rear-seat entertainment system.
The Explorer’s interior offers a standard third row, which allows easy access by moving the second-row seat out of the way. Car and Driver found the rear of the Explorer to be very spacious in tests of how many bags can fit in the vehicle.
Safety and Technology
The Durango matches its high horsepower with plenty of cutting-edge safety technology, including embedded sensors, software, and cameras. For example, you can “cruise with confidence” with adaptive cruise control. The feature lets you select a minimum separation distance between you and the car adjacent to you, slowing when needed to maintain that space.
One of the biggest causes of accidents today is cars that linger in your blind spot. The Durango has you covered with blind-spot monitoring, including rear cross-path detection. Both features have the same purpose: to see areas you can’t see. Blind-spot monitoring and cross-path detection are part of the Dodge Citadel family of security technologies.
The Ford Explorer also offers technology suites to keep you, your passengers, and fellow drivers safe. Standard features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance.
Test the Midsize SUV Market
The Dodge Durango and Ford Explorer offer a mix of comfort, style, and technology for consumers needing more space than a crossover can offer. RAM Trucks Understanding Towing Capacity
Towing capacity refers to the maximum weight a vehicle can safely tow behind it. It is a crucial specification determining the vehicle’s ability to haul trailers, boats, or other heavy loads. Several factors influence towing capacity, including engine power, transmission, axle ratio, suspension, and frame strength.
Safety
Towing capacity is crucial in keeping you and other drivers safe. Exceeding the recommended towing capacity can strain your engine, transmission, and brakes, leading to potential mechanical failures or difficulty controlling your vehicle. Adhering to the towing capacity parameters minimizes the risk of accidents and maintains better overall vehicle control.
Performance
You must use a truck with the proper towing capacity for optimal performance. When a vehicle tows within its recommended limits, it can maintain good acceleration, braking, and stability, offering a smoother and more controlled towing experience. Additionally, this helps ensure the durability and dependability of the truck’s components, as they avoid excessive stress.
Compatibility
Your vehicle’s towing capacity is essential for determining the appropriate weight it can handle, guaranteeing that you have the power and abilities to transport your desired load safely. Knowing this information allows you to choose the proper trailer or equipment that falls within the safe weight limits. This knowledge will enable you to make informed decisions when selecting the right vehicle for your towing needs.
It’s important to note that towing capacity is not the only factor to consider when towing. Other elements, such as the trailer’s weight distribution, proper hitching techniques, and familiarity with towing-related regulations, also play a significant role in safe and efficient towing operations.
Understanding Payload Capacity
A truck’s payload capacity refers to the maximum weight it can carry in its cargo area, including passengers and any additional freight.
Payload capacity is an important specification to consider when evaluating a truck’s suitability for specific tasks or hauling requirements. It is determined by the truck’s chassis, suspension system, tires, and braking capabilities. Manufacturers provide a maximum payload capacity rating to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.

What Is Towing Capacity?

Towing capacity refers to the maximum weight a vehicle can tow safely and effectively. It represents the weight a vehicle can pull behind it without compromising its stability, performance, or safety.
Towing capacity is determined by several factors, including the vehicle’s design, engine power, transmission, suspension, and braking system. Automakers establish towing capacity ratings through rigorous testing and engineering to ensure the vehicle can handle the stress and demands of towing without endangering you, your passengers, or other cars on the road.
It’s important to note that the towing capacity includes the weight of the trailer or object being towed and any cargo or passengers inside the towing vehicle itself. Exceeding the specified towing capacity can strain the vehicle excessively, compromising its handling, braking, and overall safety.
To determine if a vehicle is suitable for towing a specific load, the trailer’s total weight, its contents, and any additional cargo related to the vehicle’s towing capacity must be considered.
Understanding a vehicle’s towing capacity is vital for making informed decisions about towing trailers, boats, campers, or other heavy loads. By staying within the specified towing limits, you can maintain control, stability, and safety while enjoying your towing adventures.

The Muscle Car Wars

The pony car is a class of American automobiles that emerged in the mid-1960s, defined by its compact size, stylish design, and high-performance capabilities. These cars were aimed at younger buyers who desired a blend of affordability, sportiness, and a sense of individuality.
In 1964, Ford introduced the Mustang, often considered the pioneer of the pony car movement. However, the Mustang was beaten to the market by the Plymouth Barracuda, which was released two weeks before the Mustang. Inspired by the Mustang’s success, Chevrolet responded in 1966 with the introduction of the Camaro.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, other American automakers joined the pony car race, including Plymouth with the Barracuda, Dodge with the Challenger, and AMC with the Javelin. Each manufacturer added their unique touch to the class, offering different engine options, design elements, and driving experiences. These cars became symbols of the era, representing the spirit of freedom, youth culture, and the pursuit of adventure.
Birth of a Legend
Dodge arrived late to the American pony car scene by announcing the 1970 Dodge Challenger in 1969, a full five years after the Mustang exploded on the scene. At the time, the automotive world was experiencing a surge in demand for high-performance muscle cars. In this tumultuous era, the Dodge Challenger emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Born from the fierce competition between American car manufacturers, it was Dodge’s answer to the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.
The first-generation Dodge Challenger shared Chrysler’s E-Body platform with the slightly smaller third-generation Plymouth Barracuda. However, the Challenger differentiated itself by having a larger wheelbase and higher-end interior than the Barracuda. Many people consider the Challenger to be a direct response to the 1967 Mercury Cougar, which shared a similar market space seeking to sell to affluent young Americans.
Design Mastery
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Dodge Challenger exuded an air of aggression and raw power. Its robust silhouette boasted long, sweeping lines that embodied the essence of speed, while its bold grille and distinctive dual headlights gave it an unmistakable presence on the road. From the get-go, the Challenger’s design was an instant classic, capturing the hearts of automotive enthusiasts.
One aspect that defined the muscle car era of the early 1970s was the bold colors used by manufacturers. Dodge optioned the Challenger in many iconic stand-out colors, such as Plum Crazy, Sublime Green, Panther Pink, Bright Yellow, and Hemi Orange, which were often accompanied by the iconic bumblebee stripe down the length of the top of the car.
Engine Roar
The beating heart of any muscle car lies under the hood, and the Dodge Challenger didn’t disappoint. It offered an impressive range of engine options, each more potent than the last. The smallest engine available for the Dodge Challenger was the slant-six found in many Dodge, Chrysler, and Plymouth cars at the time.
However, those looking for the most performance could opt for several engine upgrades, the most powerful of which was the 426 Hemi V-8 that produced an eyewatering 425 horsepower. The Challenger catered to a wide spectrum of drivers, ensuring that adrenaline junkies and speed demons alike could find their perfect match.
Transcending Generations
As time marched forward, the Dodge Challenger faced its fair share of challenges. The oil crisis of the 1970s and shifting market demands led to its discontinuation in 1974. Leading up to its discontinuation were stricter emissions laws that found horsepower levels dropping off across the board for all muscle cars and consumers shifting their purchasing habits to smaller, compact vehicles.
However, the spirit of the Dodge Challenger refused to be silenced. In 2008, a new era dawned as Dodge reintroduced the Challenger to the world, blending the nostalgia of its predecessor with modern engineering and technology.
Resurrecting the Legend
The rebirth of the Challenger breathed new life into the muscle car genre. Maintaining the iconic design elements that made it a legend, the modern Challenger featured cutting-edge technology and enhanced performance. With a wide range of trims and engine options, including the awe-inspiring Hellcat and Demon variants, Dodge once again reestablished the Challenger as the quintessential symbol of American muscle.
If a new Dodge Challenger sounds like a car you can see yourself in, check out our inventory to find your perfect muscle car. Once you find your ideal Challenger, check out our financing Department, where you can apply for financing and get approved before ever stepping on the lot.
Cultural Icon
Beyond its performance prowess, the Dodge Challenger has seeped into popular culture, becoming a bona fide icon. Its appearances in films such as “Vanishing Point” and the “Fast and Furious” franchise have solidified its place in the annals of cinematic history. The Challenger’s muscular presence and untamed power have come to represent freedom, rebellion, and the pursuit of exhilaration.
Legacy of Power
As we reflect on the rich history of the Dodge Challenger, it becomes evident that its impact extends far beyond the realm of mere automobiles. Its story mirrors the resilience of the American spirit and the unyielding pursuit of innovation and excellence. From racetracks to open highways, the Challenger’s rumbling engine continues to ignite the hearts of those fortunate enough to take its wheel.
The Dodge Challenger’s journey from its origins in the 1970s to its modern-day incarnation is a testament to the indomitable spirit of automotive engineering. It’s captured the imaginations of countless enthusiasts, transcending time and becoming an enduring symbol of power, performance, and passion. So, whether you’re cruising down the highway or revving the engine on a racetrack, the Dodge Challenger stands as an emblem of the pursuit of speed, serving as a reminder that the pursuit of speed isn’t just about reaching a destination quickly but also about embracing the thrill and excitement that comes with it.

However, even the midrange models come very nicely equipped.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica: Exterior Style
The 2023 Pacifica offers a sleek exterior style with LED headlights, fog lamps, and LED daytime running lights framing the grille, giving it an aggressive stare. Its chiseled hood, standard roof rack, and sharp body lines give it an athletic profile as it rolls on various styles of 17-, 18-, or 20-inch alloy wheels. And the rear fascia features LED taillights and a hands-free power liftgate. Your side doors also operate hands-free. Wave your foot beneath the side or rear doors with the key fob in your pocket to activate.
The top-tier Pinnacle offers distinctive styling cues, such as a trim-exclusive grille, platinum chrome accent trim, and designer alloy wheels. As a result, it strikes an elegant, sophisticated pose. And the panoramic sunroof lets the light and air in on every family adventure.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica: Interior Comfort and Convenience
The Pacifica base models offer premium cloth interiors. However, the Pinnacle delivers high-end luxury with Caramel Nappa leather upholstery, suede headliner, quilted leather trim, Berber carpet, second-row leather pillows, and satin chrome accents for a refined look and feel.
Chrysler’s Stow ‘n Go seating changes the seating configurations with ease. Fold the second- and third-row seats and store them under the floor when you need to haul cargo. You have seating for up to eight people when you haul the kids to soccer practice or take a weekend getaway. Passengers can tilt and slide the second-row seats with a simple lever lift.
The Chrysler Pacifica’s seating versatility includes 243 configurations, so you can create the cabin space you need as you need it. Also, the seat storage area under the floor doubles as storage for toys, games, and more.
Clean-up has never been easier than with the Pacifica’s Stow ‘n Vac. This integrated vacuum system powered by RIGID offers quick access to your vacuum stored in the wheel well.
Your front center console offers storage space, wireless charging, and multiple USB ports. All your in-vehicle tech runs on the 10.1-inch UConnect 5 touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto preinstalled for your convenience. In addition, Chrysler installed its FamCam, which sends a live video of the back seats to your center screen.
An Amazon Alexa Skill offers remote connectivity from the comfort of your living room. Your Pacifica turns into a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that connects multiple devices. Families love the optional rear entertainment system that adds two 10-inch touch screens with Amazon Fire TV for streaming and downloading to built-in storage. You can sync the touch screens or let them operate independently when the kids can’t agree on programming.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica: Performance
Every Pacifica model comes standard with a capable front-wheel-drive platform. All the gas-powered models except the base Touring have the option for all-wheel drive for more traction and control. Chrysler uses a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission to propel the Pacifica. This powertrain produces 287 horsepower and can tow up to 3,600 pounds when properly equipped.
The Pacifica hybrid models use a 3.6-liter V-6 engine optimized by an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. As a result, you get more horsepower and torque. Plus, your economy improves with over 30 miles of driving range using only electricity. Combined with the gas engine, an electric motor provides over 500 miles of total driving range.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica: Driver Assist Technology
Chrysler installed a suite of cutting-edge tech to elevate your Broken Arrow commute and keep you safe. The suite includes a full-speed forward collision warning with active braking that uses radar to identify obstacles. If you react slowly to alerts, this system will activate emergency braking to help. Your emergency braking system also detects pedestrians.
The adaptive cruise control system helps reduce driver fatigue by keeping you at a preset distance in traffic. In addition, Chrysler’s LaneSense system tracks your Pacifica while you drive within marked lanes, alerting you when you drift. It can also provide gentle steering correction to return you to your lane.
Blind-spot monitoring uses similar technology to alert you when vehicles or objects are in your blind spots. And a rear cross-traffic alert lets you back up confidently as it warns you when vehicles cross behind you.

2023 Jeep Cherokee Trim Levels and Pricing
Jeep dropped three models from the Cherokee lineup, keeping only its off-road-inspired version. Gone are the Cherokee X, Latitude Lux, and Limited trims. Instead, Jeep focused on the 2023 Cherokee, available in only two trims, the Altitude Lux and Trailhawk.
<td style=”width: 50%; text-align: center;”>2023 Jeep Cherokee Model
| MSRP | |
| 2023 Jeep Cherokee Altitude Lux | $37,695 |
| 2023 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk | $41,295 |
While every Jeep vehicle has a reputation for four-wheel drive capability, the Cherokee lineup offers drivers a choice. For people who want comfort, convenience, and capability, the Altitude provides everything you desire. But for the adventurous driver, the Cherokee Trailhawk delivers the enhanced off-road equipment and capabilities you’ll need.
2023 Jeep Cherokee: Exterior
The Cherokee has a bold front fascia highlighted by its signature grille framed by bi-LED headlights and fog lamps slung low and wide. Standard roof rails and a chiseled side body give the Cherokee an athletic look. The Altitude Lux trim features black cladding and grille surround and rolls on 17-inch gloss black wheels with all-season tires.
Trailhawk models feature off-road sill cladding and wheel flares that deliver an aggressive profile. And you can add Rock Rails by Mopar to run between your 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels wrapped in Owl all-terrain tires. LED taillights and an available hands-free power liftgate finish the rear fascia with style and convenience.
2023 Jeep Cherokee: Interior
A dual-zone automatic climate control system, heated steering wheel, and heated and ventilated front seats keep you cozy and comfortable no matter the weather. Altitude Lux models have Black nappa leather-trimmed seats, Piano Black interior accents, and a leather-wrapped shift knob to provide a sophisticated look and feel.
Premium cloth upholstery comes standard in Black with Red accent stitching on the Trailhawk, or you can upgrade to nappa leather. Heated and ventilated front seats come standard as well.
Every Cherokee comes with an 8.4-inch touch screen, the largest in its class. Powered by Jeep’s UConnect 4C system, you get built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth technology. Plus, you have remote connectivity through the UConnect app, which allows you to lock or unlock your vehicle, remotely start it, find your car, and more.
You can further enhance your remote connectivity through Amazon Alexa Skills and by adding a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that can host up to eight devices with a range of 50 feet.
2023 Jeep Cherokee: Performance
The Cherokee Altitude Lux comes with Jeep’s Tigershark MultiAir 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 16 valves, variable valve timing, and a flow control intake valve manifold. Jeep added start-stop capability for enhanced efficiency and has paired the engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. As a result, the powertrain produces 180 horsepower, gets up to 29 mpg, and tows up to 2,000 pounds.
Jeep has abandoned the rear-drive platform in favor of standard four-wheel drive with a conventional rear differential in the Altitude Lux. You can take the road less traveled using Jeep’s Active Drive I 4×4 system and its Selec-Terrain management.
Under the Trailhawk’s hood, you have a 2-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and direct injection technology. This engine replaced the V-6 motor from last year’s model but has almost identical numbers with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and still gets 26 mpg. And the added torque lets you tow up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Trailhawk uses Jeep’s Active Drive II 4×4 system and an off-road suspension for enhanced performance. Jeep designed the Trailhawk to navigate harsh terrain with its locking rear differential, Selec-Terrain management system, and a bevy of off-road equipment.
Four skid plates shield the front suspension, underbody, transmission, and fuel tank. And you get two tow recovery hooks on the front and one on the rear to help get your friends out of trouble.
2023 Jeep Cherokee: Driver-Assist Technology
Your Jeep Cherokee comes with a suite of what’s now considered must-have technology. Adaptive cruise control with a Stop-and-Go system automatically adjusts your Cherokee’s speed to maintain a preset distance while in traffic. This radar-based system can bring your Cherokee to a complete stop if necessary.
The blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection system uses optical sensors to scan your blind spots on either side and behind. When these sensors detect a vehicle or object present, they provide visual and audio alerts. In addition, a full-speed forward collision warning with an active braking system looks ahead for potential collisions, alerting you and giving emergency brake support if necessary.
You also get LaneSense which includes lane departure warning and lane-keep assist. These systems use similar tech to track your Cherokee when driving within marked lanes. If a system detects an unintentional drift, it alerts you. It can even provide gentle steering correction to help return you to your lane.
An available ParkSense rear-park assist with stop system uses sensors mounted on the front and rear bumpers that alert you as you approach obstacles. When backing up, this system can apply the brakes to help avoid a collision. And the available parallel-and-perpendicular park assist with full-stop system makes parking a breeze. This system recognizes available spaces and steers you into them, directing you to brake and accelerate.
