Keystone Lake, Sand Springs

The highlight of Keystone State Park, this lake by the same name is ideal for water sports or just wandering. Join the bass, catfish, walleye, and other fish in the waters as you splash around and beat the heat. Birch Lake, Barnsdall

If you’re looking for scenery while you swim, Birch Lake is the place. Along with the 1,137-acre lake, the area also offers hilly terrain with trails for horses, bikes, and hikers, along with trees and plant life galore. Two designated swim areas provide easy lake access for swimmers, though you can always jump in almost anywhere. Fish off the docks or take your kayak or boat for a spin. There are also picnic tables, campsites, and showers for when you need to refresh between dips in the lake.

Blue Hole Park, Salina

Located about an hour outside Broken Arrow, Blue Hole Park is where the cool kids go to cool off. This popular swimming hole has been Oklahoma’s go-to spot for decades. With its crystal clear and shallow waters, Blue Hole is safe for swimmers of all levels, including the little ones. Swim, wade (shoes recommended!), or float on your blow-up pool float with a cool beverage. If you just can’t get enough of the swimming here, stay overnight in one of the several accommodation options and come back the next day to swim some more.

Last Chance RV Park & Campground, Castle

Looking to swim in a 12-acre lake on a real Oklahoma ranch? Now’s your chance. The Last Chance has all the amenities you need for a day on—or in—the water, including a boat dock, diving platform, and fishing dock. The campground has campsites for both RVs and tents if you’d like to stay a little longer.

Dripping Springs State Park, Okmulgee

One of two state parks in the Okmulgee area, Dripping Springs provides a pleasantly picturesque backdrop for a swimming excursion with all the amenities. Swim in the scenic Okmulgee Lake, or fish for bass off the fishing dock, or from your own boat.

There are plenty of places to picnic in the area, including group pavilions, and grills are available for cookouts. Stay late to take in the unforgettable sunset, then take advantage of the lighted boat ramp if you stay on the water after dark. Should you decide to stay all night, there are multiple campgrounds in the vicinity, with both RV hookups and tent sites.
