Like with many vehicles this year, the prices for the Jeep Wrangler are going up in 2023. Some of the trims for the Wrangler include the Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sport Altitude, Sahara, Rubicon, Sahara Altitude, High Altitude, and Rubicon 392. The Sport trim is the entry-level trim for the Wrangler, and it had a starting MSRP in 2022 of $29,995. For 2023, the Sport’s starting MSRP is $31,195. Luckily for Wrangler lovers, this isn’t as steep a price raise as some other vehicles have seen from 2022 to 2023.

The Sahara is the mid-tiered trim for the Wrangler, and it went from a starting MSRP of $42,545 in 2022 to a new starting MSRP of $45,625 in 2023. The highest trim for the Wrangler is the Rubicon 392, which went from $79,990 to $82,495. These price raises are pretty consistent across trims and reflect the overall changes in the economy and inflation.

Freedom Edition

The Freedom Edition is a new feature for the Wrangler in 2023, allowing drivers to show their pride and honor while supporting military charities. The Freedom Edition has a starting MSRP of $37,690 and has a suite of features that pay tribute to those who serve in the United States Armed Forces. You can find Freedom Decals on the front fender that show a black and white American flag above the Jeep Wrangler print. A unique Oscar Mike badge on the rear of the Wrangler is also a nod to the troops, as “Oscar Mike” is a term that military members can use to mean “on the move.”

The Freedom Edition comes with LED headlamps and fog lighting to help you illuminate the road no matter the conditions and rugged black aluminum wheels to tackle every terrain. The interior is fitted with black leather-trimmed seats that also feature the Oscar Mike symbol. There are two bucket seats in the front that are fully adjustable. The Freedom Edition comes in colors including Black Clear Coat, Bright White Clear Coat, Earl Clear Coat, Firecracker Red Clear Coat, High Velocity Clear Coat, Hydro Blue Pearl Coat, Sarge Green Clear Coat, Silver Zynith Clear Coat, Sting-Gray Clear Coat, and Limited Edition Reign.

EcoDiesel Engine

Jeep announced this year that it would be phasing out diesel engines for the Wrangler line. The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel Engine for the Wrangler was one of the most powerful options you could choose, with up to 260 horsepower, 442 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of up to 3,500 lbs. Though Jeep has decided to end the production of diesel-powered Wranglers, the company decided to commemorate the diesel engines with a final special edition to celebrate the power and capability.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon FarOut special edition model is the final in the EcoDiesel production. It features elements throughout the design that pay tribute to the line, including a Diesel 3.0-liter hood design, special wheels, and diesel badges. The EcoDiesel engine was only available in the Wrangler from 2020 to now, but many Wrangler fans are sad to see it go. If you want a diesel-powered Wrangler, now is the time to grab one before they’re gone.

With the EcoDiesel engine out of the lineup, that leaves just four engines for the Wrangler going forward. This includes the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which offers up to 285 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. The Pentastar engine with an automatic transmission gets a combined 24 miles per gallon. There’s also the 2.0-liter Turbo engine, which offers up to 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, with the same towing capacity and fuel economy rating as the Pentastar.

The 6.4 HEMI V-8 engine is a powerful option for the Wrangler, ramping it up to 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. What you gain in power, you lose in fuel economy, bringing the miles per gallon down to 17 combined.

Finally, there’s the newest engine in the lineup, the PHEV 2.0-liter I-4 DOHC Turbo engine, which is the hybrid option for the Jeep Wrangler. This engine offers up to 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This engine offers much higher torque than the V-6 and Turbo engines and also excels in fuel economy by offering up to 49 miles per gallon combined. It’s a great choice for the Wrangler lover who wants to be more friendly to the environment and avoid paying so much at the pump.

2023 Jeep Wrangler New Colors

This year, Jeep announced two new colors for the Wrangler, including Earl and Reign. Earl is a soft blue-gray color that would be perfect for anybody who wanted a more low-key Wrangler. Reign, on the other hand, takes the Wrangler in the opposite direction. It’s a bright purple that’s sure to draw attention as you drive past. You can get your 2023 Jeep Wrangler in colors including Black Clear Coat, Sting-Gray Clear Coat, Silver Zynith Clear-Coat, Earl Clear-Coat, Hydro Blue Pearl-Coat, Firecracker Red Clear-Coat, Punk’n Metallic Clear-Coat, High Velocity Clear-Coat, Sarge Green Clear-Coat, and Bright White Clear-Coat.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Wheels

The Rubicon is a popular trim for the Wrangler because it blends functionality and affordability. The Rubicon trim is also capable of withstanding the most brutal beating from conditions like snow, sleet, wind, rain, and sand. This year, Jeep made some minor changes to the wheel design options for the Rubicon, adding a red Willys logo to the center of the wheel.
