2023 Dodge Challenger New Features

2023 Dodge Challenger

2023 Dodge Challenger

This is the last year of this generation of Dodge Challenger. Going forward, we’re likely to see a shift toward models with electric powertrains, marking the start of a brand-new era for the Challenger line. To show that the 2023 Challenger is the last of its generation, it comes with a commemorative plaque under its hood. Unlike the 2022 model, buyers also get to choose from a range of colors previously featured for the Challenger as part of a lineup of 14 exterior color options. These colors include:

  • Plum crazy.
  • B5 Blue.
  • Sublime Green.

Additionally, if you choose the R/T trim, you get a “345” badge for the front fender. This badge honors the Hemi V-8 engine secured under the hood. Also new for 2023 is the introduction of Jailbreak models for the 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 SRT Hellcat. Previously, the Jailbreak option was only available for the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody. This means even more options for drivers looking to customize their rides. Choosing the Jailbreak model unlocks the full range of personalization options for buyers looking to purchase the 2023 Dodge Challenger.

Also on offer for the 2023 Challenger are four limited edition Last Call models. These commemorative models feature special additions, but Dodge will only make 300 to 1,000 of each unit available. Here’s a list of the Last Call models:

  • Challenger Shakedown Special Edition.
  • Challenger Swinger Widebody Special Edition.
  • Shakedown Widebody Special Edition.
  • Challenger Black Ghost Special Edition.

Dodge Challenger Trim Levels

The 2023 Dodge Challenger comes in an impressive variety of trims. There are five options for the non-SRT Dodge Challenger. The standard trim is the SXT. This trim features an eight-speed automatic transmission, eight-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and an eight-way power driver seat. The next trim level is the GT, which features all the same gear that comes standard in the SXT, but features a different look. The GT’s style is more aggressive than the SXT, including a rear spoiler for added flare.

Stepping up from the SXT and GT is the Challenger R/T. This trim option features a V-8 Hemi 5.7-liter engine. It generates an impressive 375 horsepower, which is an increase from the 303 horsepower produced by the SXT and GT. It can produce 410 lb-ft of torque. Improving even more on the R/T’s exciting options is the R/T Scat Pack trim. This trim ups the power even more by featuring a V-8, 6.4-liter Hemi engine. This engine can get up to 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.

The top-of-the-line trim is the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. With this trim, you get all the guts of the R/T Scat Pack, but with a widebody design that is sure to help your Challenger stand out from the crowd. Enjoy luxury features like upgraded cabin materials and heated front seats. This model also comes standard with technology features like internet service that other non-RST trim models can only get optionally.

Dodge Challenger Engine and Performance

The 2023 Dodge Challenger comes with a few different engine options depending on which trim level you choose. The standard engine is the V-6, which comes exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s a 3.6-liter, which generates 303 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque.

The V-8 Hemi pushes the engine to another level, offering additional acceleration and power for thrill-seekers looking to equip their Challenger for the road or the raceway. The V-8 Hemi comes in either a 5.7-liter or 6.4-liter depending on which trim level you choose. This translates to 375 horsepower and 410 lb-ft torque for the 5.7-liter and 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft torque for the 6.4-liter. Drivers also get the standard manual transmission rather than the eight-speed automatic as the natural pairing with these engine types.

In terms of performance, the Challenger is as fun as it is powerful to drive. Feel the growl of the engine as you accelerate down empty highways and enjoy the responsiveness of the steering as you negotiate tight corners. The 2023 Challenger delivers everything you could want from a true muscle car driving experience. Whether you’re making your daily commute or challenging your ride on the drag strip, you’ll never get bored with driving your Challenger.

Dodge Challenger Interior and Connectivity

Simple, retro, and sleek all define the cabin design for the new Challenger. Inspired by the classic 1970s muscle car design, the 2023 Challenger pays respect to its predecessors in terms of style. However, the modern model is even more spacious than its ancestors. It’s roomy enough to accommodate five passengers between its front and rear seats, and it can even comfortably fit adult passengers in the back.

The modern Challenger also features modern amenities, including all the technology options you need in 2023. All 2023 Challengers come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. They also feature an easy-to-use central infotainment system, with optional navigation add-ons.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety and driver assistance remains a priority for the Dodge Challenger. The 2023 Challenger comes with available safety features like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. You can also equip your ride with safety technology like adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams.

It’s an exciting year for the new Dodge Challenger. As the last model of its generation, the 2023 Challenger has a lot to offer in terms of performance, design, and technology. It pays respect to its lineage while keeping up with modern technology trends. If you’re looking to get behind the wheel of a new Dodge Challenger, we can help.
