The popularity of minivans has been dwindling over the past few years, with SUVs sapping sales away from the segment. Even so, a few manufacturers, including Chrysler and Toyota, have remained committed to producing minivans that can go toe-to-toe with some of the best crossovers on the market regarding utility, comfort, and performance. Read our minivan showdown as we make a Chrysler Pacifica vs. Toyota Sienna side-by-side comparison to see how they stack up in crucial areas to help you choose the ideal model for driving in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Reliability

A vehicle’s reliability rating is a vital consideration when shopping for a minivan, as it directly impacts your ownership experience.  Consumer Reports predicts that the 2025 Chrysler Pacifica will likely have average reliability based on data from the 2022 and 2023 models.

Like its rival, the new Sienna will likely have an average reliability score based on the reliability data from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 models.

Cargo Space

One of the reasons many buyers still prefer minivans over SUVs is the larger cargo capacity. As two of the leading minivans in 2025, the Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna provide generous and adaptable cargo holds to adequately support the needs of families in Broken Arrow.

The 2025 Pacifica offers a class-leading 32.3 cubic feet of trunk space with all the seats in place. Folding the third-row seats opens up 87.5 cubic feet of cargo space, and lowering the second and third rows expands it even further to an impressive 140.5 cubic feet.

While the 2025 Toyota Sienna offers a larger standard trunk space of 33.5 cubic feet, its overall cargo capacity is less than the Pacifica’s. It offers a maximum of 75.2 cubic feet behind the second row of seats and a total of 101 cubic feet with both the second and third rows of seats lowered.

Engine and Drivetrain

The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna have robust engine options, delivering outstanding driving performance. The new Pacifica’s standard powerplant is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine outputting 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque that works with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The other powertrain option for the 2025 Pacifica is a plug-in hybrid comprising a 3.6-liter V-6, a 16 kWh battery, and dual electric motors. This electrified powerplant churns out 260 hp with a continuously variable automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive is standard on 2025 Pacifica models, an all-wheel-drive system is available on all but the hybrid.

For the 2025 model year, the Toyota Sienna is exclusively available with a hybrid powerplant comprising a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two motors that deliver 245 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. The model comes with standard front-wheel drive, although an electronic on-demand all-wheel-drive system is available if you crave more balanced handling and performance on all terrains.

Fuel Economy

The 2025 Toyota Sienna has a slight upper hand over the Chrysler Pacifica when it comes to fuel economy. The model gets an EPA-estimated 36 mpg combined. The Pacifica gas models have EPA ratings of 19 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined. The plug-in hybrid models offer slightly better fuel economy, providing up to 32 miles of all-electric power. When running on gas alone, the Pacifica Hybrid gets a combined rating of 30 mpg, which is still slightly lower than the Sienna’s.

Infotainment and Technology

The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica uses the sophisticated U-Connect 5 infotainment system, which you can access through the 10.1-inch center display. This advanced system lets you add up to five user profiles for a more personalized entertainment experience. Standard wireless smartphone integration lets you connect your Apple or Android device and access it through the infotainment touch screen.

The new Pacifica offers rear-seat entertainment through two seatback-mounted 10-inch high-definition displays to ensure fun-filled journeys for the entire family. Also available on this model is a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system that delivers a spectacular sonic experience during drives. Other available standout connectivity and entertainment technologies include Bluetooth compatibility, SiriusXM, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot.

The 2025 Sienna boasts an equally impressive array of entertainment, navigation, and connectivity features. The base LE trim has an 8-inch multimedia display, while higher trims get a much larger 12.3-inch center touch screen. Standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility lets you access and interact with your favorite apps while staying focused on the road ahead.

Rear passengers can enjoy their favorite movies and shows with the Sienna’s high-definition rear-seat entertainment center. The model also provides an immersive listening experience through the available 12-speaker JBL premium audio system.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety is paramount for family-oriented minivans, and the new Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna don’t disappoint. Both vehicles offer an array of sophisticated driver-assistance technologies and safety systems to ensure maximum confidence and protection on the road.

Standard safety features on the 2025 Pacifica include adaptive cruise control,  lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and pedestrian automatic emergency braking. Available safety and security features include a 360-degree surround-view camera, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and front park assist.

The 2025 Sienna’s Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite shares many standard safety features with the Pacifica and adds a few more, including road sign assist and lane-tracing assist. Nevertheless, the new Pacifica offers a more comprehensive safety system with more standard and available features.
