2023 Jeep Cherokee Trim Levels and Pricing

Jeep dropped three models from the Cherokee lineup, keeping only its off-road-inspired version. Gone are the Cherokee X, Latitude Lux, and Limited trims. Instead, Jeep focused on the 2023 Cherokee, available in only two trims, the Altitude Lux and Trailhawk.

MSRP
2023 Jeep Cherokee Altitude Lux $37,695
2023 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk $41,295

While every Jeep vehicle has a reputation for four-wheel drive capability, the Cherokee lineup offers drivers a choice. For people who want comfort, convenience, and capability, the Altitude provides everything you desire. But for the adventurous driver, the Cherokee Trailhawk delivers the enhanced off-road equipment and capabilities you’ll need.

2023 Jeep Cherokee: Exterior

The Cherokee has a bold front fascia highlighted by its signature grille framed by bi-LED headlights and fog lamps slung low and wide. Standard roof rails and a chiseled side body give the Cherokee an athletic look. The Altitude Lux trim features black cladding and grille surround and rolls on 17-inch gloss black wheels with all-season tires.

Trailhawk models feature off-road sill cladding and wheel flares that deliver an aggressive profile. And you can add Rock Rails by Mopar to run between your 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels wrapped in Owl all-terrain tires. LED taillights and an available hands-free power liftgate finish the rear fascia with style and convenience.

2023 Jeep Cherokee: Interior

A dual-zone automatic climate control system, heated steering wheel, and heated and ventilated front seats keep you cozy and comfortable no matter the weather. Altitude Lux models have Black nappa leather-trimmed seats, Piano Black interior accents, and a leather-wrapped shift knob to provide a sophisticated look and feel.

Premium cloth upholstery comes standard in Black with Red accent stitching on the Trailhawk, or you can upgrade to nappa leather. Heated and ventilated front seats come standard as well.

Every Cherokee comes with an 8.4-inch touch screen, the largest in its class. Powered by Jeep’s UConnect 4C system, you get built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth technology. Plus, you have remote connectivity through the UConnect app, which allows you to lock or unlock your vehicle, remotely start it, find your car, and more.

You can further enhance your remote connectivity through Amazon Alexa Skills and by adding a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that can host up to eight devices with a range of 50 feet.

2023 Jeep Cherokee: Performance

The Cherokee Altitude Lux comes with Jeep’s Tigershark MultiAir 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 16 valves, variable valve timing, and a flow control intake valve manifold. Jeep added start-stop capability for enhanced efficiency and has paired the engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. As a result, the powertrain produces 180 horsepower, gets up to 29 mpg, and tows up to 2,000 pounds.

Jeep has abandoned the rear-drive platform in favor of standard four-wheel drive with a conventional rear differential in the Altitude Lux. You can take the road less traveled using Jeep’s Active Drive I 4×4 system and its Selec-Terrain management.

Under the Trailhawk’s hood, you have a 2-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and direct injection technology. This engine replaced the V-6 motor from last year’s model but has almost identical numbers with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and still gets 26 mpg. And the added torque lets you tow up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Trailhawk uses Jeep’s Active Drive II 4×4 system and an off-road suspension for enhanced performance. Jeep designed the Trailhawk to navigate harsh terrain with its locking rear differential, Selec-Terrain management system, and a bevy of off-road equipment.

Four skid plates shield the front suspension, underbody, transmission, and fuel tank. And you get two tow recovery hooks on the front and one on the rear to help get your friends out of trouble.

2023 Jeep Cherokee: Driver-Assist Technology

Your Jeep Cherokee comes with a suite of what’s now considered must-have technology. Adaptive cruise control with a Stop-and-Go system automatically adjusts your Cherokee’s speed to maintain a preset distance while in traffic. This radar-based system can bring your Cherokee to a complete stop if necessary.

The blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection system uses optical sensors to scan your blind spots on either side and behind. When these sensors detect a vehicle or object present, they provide visual and audio alerts. In addition, a full-speed forward collision warning with an active braking system looks ahead for potential collisions, alerting you and giving emergency brake support if necessary.

You also get LaneSense which includes lane departure warning and lane-keep assist. These systems use similar tech to track your Cherokee when driving within marked lanes. If a system detects an unintentional drift, it alerts you. It can even provide gentle steering correction to help return you to your lane.

An available ParkSense rear-park assist with stop system uses sensors mounted on the front and rear bumpers that alert you as you approach obstacles. When backing up, this system can apply the brakes to help avoid a collision. And the available parallel-and-perpendicular park assist with full-stop system makes parking a breeze. This system recognizes available spaces and steers you into them, directing you to brake and accelerate.
